EXPERIENCE

I have worked in the NHS for over 10 years and in the corporate environment for 15 years. During that time I have worked on a 1-2-1 basis extensively with many people who struggle with various addiction difficulties including alcohol, drugs, shopping, gambling and sex. I understand the impact addiction has on people’s relationships, their health, as well as their family and working lives and that whilst people share common experiences everyone’s story is unique and requires a uniquely tailored individual approach.

PHILOSOPHY

Most of us struggle with difficulties in our lives from time to time. Challenges are a normal part of life and often we manage them effectively and successfully but there are times when we can feel overwhelmed or unable to cope as well as we might like to. Sometimes we need some help and having someone to talk to with no agenda other than supporting you and helping you work things through can be a particularly liberating and reparative experience. CBT isn’t about giving advice or telling you how to do things differently, it’s about helping you navigate your own way through your difficulties. CBT helps provide a framework within which to work with addiction, understanding the process of addiction, providing you with tools and techniques to manage your difficulties. CBT helps foster autonomy and long lasting change I am very passionate about what I do and I feel truly fortunate to have worked with amazing people who have made powerful and positive change in their lives. No one's experience is the same and I’m hugely grateful to all the people I have met in my work who let me grow
and learn with them.
